They have tried and if they are in employed they get hopeless.
This is the life experienced by a child on a daily basis
On a daily basis we are seeing a drop in young people getting or showing an interest in geting jobs or into the labour market. As we reflect we do only see the increase them in enrolment.
THe labour force participation rate of young people between the age of 18 – 26 is continuing to drop. Also this was found out by the International Labour Office. Since 1999 to 2019 Globally the number of Youth have grown from 1 billion to 1.3 billin, the number of young poeple who are entering the job market or showing interest in finding opportunities has dropped dramatically and this should make us be worried.
Southern Africa Youth Project as a Youth development Institution addressing the Youth unemployment by bridging the gap through providing work readiness and digital technology skills to prepare young people for the work environment. We have also witnessed this at regional and country level that so much still needs to be done.
We need to create more spaces for young people to start dreaming again.
We have established community centers and through our partner organisation continue to make impact in the lives of the poor young people in townships and rural areas.
